The Town of Prosper Parks and Recreation department has implemented a variety of afterschool and summer activities. No need to leave town for your recreational needs, we are bringing it to you.
2019 Winter - Soccer Sparks, ages 4-5


Dribble, kick and pass!  The Soccer Sparks class for 4-5 year old players is designed to teach all the proper techniques, such as dribbling, passing and shooting, in a positive and fun environment and to develop a lifelong love of soccer. Curriculum includes fun and energetic games that teach kids about playing within a group.

Soccer Sparks offers age appropriate soccer classes for kids ages 2 to 9 in a low pressure, high skill learning environment. The Soccer Sparks approach utilizes fun and games so that children develop a passion for soccer without the stress of competitive play. Taught by USSF Nationally Certified coaches, Soccer Sparks' "all ball" training techniques help kids meet their maximum potential while emphasizing fair play and enjoyment of the sport.

Dazzle with your footwork!  This class offers an "all ball" approach to foster skills improvement and build player confidence. Skill development and team play are emphasized. Coaches will introduce fundamental skills, including teamwork, dribbling, passing, juggling moves and accurate shooting. 

Soccer Sparks offers age appropriate soccer classes for kids ages 2 to 9 in a low pressure, high skill learning environment. The Soccer Sparks approach utilizes fun and games so that children develop a passion for soccer without the stress of competitive play. Taught by USSF Nationally Certified coaches, Soccer Sparks' "all ball" training techniques help kids meet their maximum potential while emphasizing fair play and enjoyment of the sport.

2019 Spring - Youth Tennis Spring Session I
Introduce your child to the sport of a lifetime! It's easy to get started! Rackets are available to borrow, no special tennis attire is required and any kind of athletic shoe works. Programs are led by USPTA certified pros (David Gray - former UNT head coach; Carlos Aguilar - recently ranked #1 in the state in Men's Double; Nick Strohla - national USTA team qualfiier; and Alexis Thoma - played 15 professional tournaments), along with assistants that are great with kids. 

PEE WEE (ages 4-5) & ELEMENTARY (ages 6-9) classes emphasize all 5 basic tennis strokes to build a strong foundation. Focus is on grips, stroke patterns and footwork. Smaller rackets and lower compression balls make learning easier and more fun. Players are typically grouped by age.

0 & UP (ages 10-14) classes are typically divided into 3 levels:  players new to sport, experienced older players and players already competing or on middle school teams.  Stroke fundamentals are emphasized, with greater focus on serving, rallying and actual point play.

NO CLASS on PISD holidays.  Class is held on Mondays & Wednesdays at the Reynolds Middle School tennis courts and Fridays at the Rogers Middle School tennis courts.   
Date Information: 2/27 - 4/5: MON and/or WED. Age 4-9: 5:15pm - 6:00pm. Ages 10+: 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Cost: Youth: $79 - one day, $139 - up to three days. 5 week sessions

2019 Spring - Intro to Archery Session I
Designed for the new archer, this class guides participants through NASP (National Archery in Schools Program) curriculum, safety, 11 Steps to Archery Success, and picking up a bow for the first time.  Students gain confidence through a well-rounded introduction and are provided the resources to explore the sport further.  This 5-week class meets once a week on Mondays.  All equipment provided.

**Archers nust be able to hold a 2lb-4lb bow and pull a minimum 6lb-10lb draw weight.

2019 Spring - Advanced Archery Session I
Designed for archers who have completed Intro to Archery, this class covers advanced techniques and games to help archers hone their skills.  We will review archer safety and the 11 steps to Archery Success prior to shooting.  This 5-week session meets once a week on Monday.  All equipment is provided.

**Archers must be able to hold a 2lb - 4lb bow and pull a minimum 6lb - 10lb draw weight.
